hi
I am a c# .net developer. i want my application to run on ceedo without needing host components. i have installed .net on ceedo successfuly, but when trying to run my application from Ceedo it gives error message regarding .net not found on host machine. * my application is stand alone and does not need special installation so i have added it to ceedo with Argo (Add as shortcut). * my application requries 3 components: .Net 3.5; Crystal Report, Access DB engine. i am trying to run it on Clean XP Machine. i want to know if there something special i need to do. And if when adding application as shortcut from Argo does it still wrapping it in the virtualized environment of Ceedo. |

Elad, if you have .NET installed into Ceedo, your application should function providing the .NET version installed into Ceedo is the required one.
Is there any way you could send me a copy of your app so I can see if I can get it to work in the latest beta version of Ceedo, please? My e-mail address is keithw@ceedo.com. |

Hi Keith;
Thanks for the fast reply. i have been a ceedo evaluator in past, and was very impressed with Ceedo. Today i am using a trial version of ceedo in order to test my application in ceedo environment, so i will have another way of deploying it to my end users. * my application is for end users which most of the time doesn't have a permanent environment to work on. I have been sitting all day in order to understand the problem. finally i figured that i had a compilation problem with my application. i am glad to say that now everything is good and working on Ceedo Thanks by the way do you still have evaluators on Ceedo ? my evaluator license has long expired and i would like to have one in order to test my application on it. |

Thanks for the update, Elad.
We do still have an evaluators' group, but I'm not adding any new members right now. Go ahead and send me an e-mail and I'll send you a license code for CP, regardless. |

@keith: I forgot it to say, but I also was an official evaluator. But then someone kicks me out of this group and I didn't get any feedback why this happens. So I decided to end using Ceedo anymore (my last license was a evaluator license and I couldn't refresh them anymore because the old website wasn't available anymore). But today I'm testing Ceedo again (in many kinds of environments and configurations), but not only Ceedo. I'm also testing the PortableApps Platform and VMware ThinApp and many more. All of them have two targets: Running more and more Windows apps in Wine (on Linux), and building the "perfect" multi-USB-flash-drive environment (with a portable Windows Seven, a portable Kubuntu, a portable PC-BSD, a portable OpenSolaris and also a part of tools for running them inside a OS.
But all of them needs more time than 45 days and so I'm always forced to start nearly from the beginning. That's very frustrating. So, is it possible to find a solution for that? Ok, my projects are not really the "mainstream" but running Ceedo on other OS (ok, only via Wine) is also a good thing ... |

McStarfighter, when I joined Ceedo, the subject of the evaluators' group came up. It was decided to disband the group because there were too many members, the vast majority of which were completely inactive.
We started a new beta testing group - the Ceedo Insiders. When we did this, I sent out an e-mail to everyone who was on the old Evaluators' group list. Most of those who replied stating that they wanted to join the Insiders' group were included. Those who had not replied to my e-mail after a two week period had elapsed were not included in the new group. Some members of the new group became inactive after a while, so after a 90 day period of inactivity, I sent these members an e-mail asking if they wanted to continue as beta testers. Those who said no, and those who failed to respond to this e-mail for a two week period were also cut. Send me an e-mail. I will send you one non-transferable license code for CP + Argo. |
