Default QuickBooks

I would like to install QuickBooks on to my ceedo drive. It is an older version of quickbooks, Basic 2005. (Works just fine for my small business.)

If I try to install from the D://setup it tells me it cannot install MDAC 2.8 and gives me a website to go to. I go to the website and it wants me to install Windows Service Pack.~ Abandonded this route.

I then went to D://qbooks/quickbooks.msi and I get a little farther. I am able to put in the license number and it starts to install. Then part way through it gives me Error 1935 and says it needs .NET Framework. I have also gotten a 2908 error.

I have tried this on two computers, both running XP if it matters. I am trying to install this via ARGO.

Anyone have any ideas? I intially had problems installing FrontPage, but eventually got that to work. Wish I knew what I did to get it working... but it does and I love the fact that I can take it from computer to computer.

Thank you for any help you can give me!
Patty

Install MDAC from here.

This is a direct link to the MDAC installation page. You must open a hooked instance of IE (Not Firefox) from Ceedo to install.

I think perhaps I spoke too soon. Seems to work on the computer I used to install QB, but moving to another computer it says there is a fatal error.

It first says that I recently downloaded an update and it asks if I want to install it. Saying "install now"... Tells me I am unable to apply patch. Program updated. There is a message prior, but it moves through it so quickly I cannot read it.

Saying "install later" gives me the fatal error: Quickbooks has encountered a problem. Close all open applications and restart Quickbooks. If the problem persists, insert the QB CD into your computer and then reinstall the software. If you encounter the problem again contact Technical Support. Blah, Blah, Blah... The instruction at "0xoo401730" referenced memory at "0x033d3df4" The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program.

I have not reinstalled the program. I need to move to another computer, because for some reason my D drive is not reading the CDROM and the other computer is being used...

Any more ideas??

Thanks! Patty
