Hi,
120gig external HD problem with permissions/limited accounts.
I'm having trouble with thunderbird, barca, and firefox on XP home limited account which seems to be due to an NTFS write access problem.
Should I change the NTFS directory security on an XP Pro maching to allow full access for everyone, should the drive be formated in FAT32, or other?
Thanks.

I think that better way of solving this issue is to change NTFS permissions.

I set this drive up on XP Home using NTFS, but the NTFS permision manipulation is limited on XPHOME. The presmissions appear to default for the current XP Home user, and as soon as it is used on another machine with limited account it can not work.
I rectified this by changing the NTFS persmissions on an XP PRO machine, but obviously normal users won't be able to do this.
It seems that, if a drive is to be initally set up on an XPHome machine, the drive can not be used on other computers with limited accounts.
Perhaps a utility is needed from Ceedo?

what do you mean by "trouble"? what errors does it give you?

Permission related errors. When I reset the NTFS permisioons to allow all - everything worked fine.
