When I first found Ceedo, I nearly made a quick impulse buy, I was so impressed. But I am very glad I did not at this point. I'm happy to explain why, in hopes it may change because overall Ceedo has huge potential.

1) It's the (crappy) economy, stupid! hehe $30 bucks was OK but then once I found out another $40 to make it full-featured, forget it. Thats a deal KILLER! Yes, it does more than U3 (mostly just Argo), but U3 was FREE on my drive, so I`ll pay up $30 to Argo but thats it. Backup, as mentioned elsewhere, should be a very basic necessity included.

2) Especially since Firefox is broke (connection errors) and Roboform "approved" version isn't available. (my 2 most used apps of course)

3) No password? It's a PORTABLE device with no password. That's just really DUMB! Oh, ok, I can pay $20 for it later? LOL

Well there is my 2cents. I`ll keep an eye on Ceedo, but for now it's No-do :)

Mike

edit -
I just thought I should add, that I am no happier with U3 either. It needs tons more work than Ceedo IMHO and I like Ceedo better on a more fundmental level with how it works. If I didn't like Ceedo, I would simply move on and not waste my time leaving a message. But it doesn't change the fact that I would like Ceedo to improve, not only in function but price. I`ve read you saying "well, it's cheap if you buy such and such drive ..." but look,my drive receipt is long gone! I'm stuck with my Sandisk, which I bought before I ever knew a thing called Ceedo or U3 even existed.

Just an info for you: When you buy an Personal license for Ceedo, the Add-Ons are FREE because the license file includes them.

Oh and don't forget, that for U3 special compiled and packed software are need to run on such a stick. With InstallAnything you can install any software which don't need the Windows Installer for installing.

??? This is not made clear at all. Sorry for my hesitation, but are you sure? Read the following:

"Do you want more from your Ceedo Personal? Extend your Ceedo platform to include more features, capabilities and utilities with our selection of Ceedo Add-ons."

The "selection of Ceedo Add-ons" are 'InstallAnything' and 'Backup and restore'. This certainly sounds like they are NOT included.

Sorry if I`m wrong.

Oh yes, I'm absolutely sure, because it runs at me like I told.

Forgive my lack of trust regarding your expertise in this matter, McStarfighter, but I'm not even sure if you said something relevent.

Can you point me to a page with the license you mention, so that I may look it over?

Thanks,
Mike

Oh, just disregard. After thinking about this all day, there are just too many issues with Ceedo at the moment. It's not even worth $30 "total" to me, let alone $70, when I can't use Firefox correctly and I don't even have password protection. This should be considered "Beta" IMHO. I`ll check back in 6 months when the market has forced some changes. For now, regrettably, back to U3.

Hello,

I have looked over this thread, and would like to inform everyone there is a password protection feature in Ceedo. If you wish to protect your Ceedo Drive follow the instructions I have provided

Start Ceedo
Click on the Ceedo Start Button
Click on Options
Click on Security
Look under password
If the Enable button is available click on it, if it is not, then you already have a password.
Type in your desired password
Your Done!Hope that clears things up.
