View Full Version : Ceedo Traces Left in Host Registry?

:( I just checked out my Work PC's registry to see if I could find any trace of Ceedo there (Ceedo drive NOT connected).

I thought Ceedo cleaned up all (or at least most) traces of it's presence during the shutdown process.

I found Many entries in the Host's registry. ie: Entries for all of the Apps I had installed in Ceedo.

FYI don't delete these as they cause the Ceedo menu to "forget" your apps. (I will be reinstalling everything now). These deletions also cause registered apps to forget that they were registered(YNAB Pro) and user profiles to be lost (RoboForm). It looks as if the data is still there, but the programs don't see it.

I know, I know...back up before any major changes, but:

Any suggestions on restoring the registry?

Any suggestions for preventing these registry entries from occurring in the first place? Shouldn't these be stored in the Ceedo "Registry"?

Thanks

Do you have Ceedo set up to cache the temp files on the host computer, or do you have it set up to keep the temp files on the Ceedo drive?

Keith,
Yes I did have Ceedo set to cache on the Host. This is now changed and Lo all my settings & Programs have returned. (WHEW)

I have yet to check the host's registry...but I am hopeful.

How can I change Ceedos config to have the temp files on the Host PC? Thanks

Select Options from the menu. Then, click on Security and select the option to store the temp files on the host (under privacy).

The title of this thread might be my problem. I installed Ceedo then deleted it. When I goto reinstall it, nothing happens when I try to run the installer, other than the hour glass mouse pointer flashing for an instant.

Edit: I think the problem is whatever the Ceedo installer puts in the registry to keep you from using the program beyond the trial date unless you buy it. Maybe if I deleted that entry it would solve the problem.
