You can alleviate your boredom by fixing your Ceedo installation. :D

Um... i wish i could ~

But i need to get a a new USB... because THIS NEW ONE stopped working in one month [bought it in january and lost reciept]

It was an 8GB Sandisk Cruzer Micro with U3 (http://sandisk.com/Products/Item%282645%29-SDCZ6-016G-A11-SanDisk_Cruzer_Micro_16GB_Black.aspx). Whenever i plug it in, it just flashes and then turns off. It is not detected in Disk Management or even in the Hardware devices list [even as an unknown device]. The same result occurs on all computers i have access to, and i cannot find any article relating to the problem...

If you baught it from a store and by credit card, bring it back in with it's serial number, the store can find your invoice even if you lost it. not as likely with cash purchases, however if they refrence serial numbers on their invoicing then maybe.

That keys defective from what you say, you should get it RMA'd

Yep. That drive is a gonner.

After 30 days from date of purchase the warranty will be handled by Sandisk - this is standard. If you bought the drive from a store using a credit card as Qwerty said, they should be able to provide you with a new receipt from their records so you can contact Sandisk.

If you bought the drive online, you should be able to find a record of your purchase in your online store account.

Alternately, you can either e-mail (http://www.ceedoforum.com/forum/support@SanDisk.com) Sandisk or call them at 866-6804007 (Australia (AU)) and set up an RMA based on the serial number on the drive.

Sandisk's warranties on the Cruzer Micro series is three years according to New Egg where I bought my drives. Sandisk's website says two years on Cruzer Micro drives.

it sounds like you have a similar problem that my friend had. one of the wires snapped inside. open up the sandisk and take a look. you may be able to create a quick patchup just to be able to get your files off the drive.

I hope you have better luck with SanDisk than I have had, I placed an order with them on 2/21/09 and after 5 working days I checked the status of my order on line and it says "order in process" so I called them to see what the hold up was, and the only person I could talk to was someone in India:( and they didn't know a damn thing, this will be the last time I ever order anything from SanDisk, so I can imagine what you'll have to go through to get a replacement, kevinbui
Good Luck

I never read the book, but i might read it sometime, after all most SF stories are better read than watched on TV ;)
There's just not enough time in thos 2-3 hours to show the story as it can be shown in a book. I remember that i didn't understand too much from the "Space Odissey 2001" movie, but after reading the A.C. Clark's books i finally understood what the movie wanted to show :D

Wolf... Wolf... Wolf...

I'm messin' with ya, man. I don't think there was a book, other than comic books, that is. :)

The old saw is that the book is always better than the movie. :D

Exactly!!! :D

By the way, the Space Odyssey series, whether in book or in movie format, is a sure way to put me to sleep. Arthur C. Clark has to be the most boring SciFi writer ever!

The odd thing is, though, it was his book, "The City and the Stars" that got me hooked on SciFi in the first place.

I replaced a Cruzer Titanium last year via e-mail. Didn't have any issues.

Well, after 6 business days and order still in process, I canceled my order with SanDisk, and ordered a SanDisk Cruzer Titanium 8GB, and a SanDisk Cruzer Titanium 16GB from Buy.com for almost the same price as the SanDisk Cruzer Titanium 16 GB from SanDisk

Jim, when you say "... canceled my order ..." do you mean that you canceled your purchase order for a drive you were purchasing, or canceled your order for a drive that you were sending back to Sandisk for a replacement?

If you were purchasing a drive (not replacing one), you'd be better off buying from an online vendor instead of directly from Sandisk. I've been buying most of my stuff over the years from New Egg (http://newegg.com). They are out of City of Industry, CA. I never upgrade my shipping, or pay for them to expedite my orders, and they usually get my stuff to me here in Ohio within three business days.

Once I placed an order on a Sunday afternoon, and by that evening, the order status said that my order was on the truck.

Keith, I was trying to buy a new SanDisk Cruzer Titanium 16GB from SanDisk, and I canceled my order.
I've ordered from New Egg before and they're great, but they didn't have the SanDisk Cruzer Titanium 16GB, so I ordered it from Buy.com I've also had good luck with them.

Update: I placed the order with Buy.com at 8:30 AM and it shipped today, I have a Tracking Number, maybe my luck has changed

Good to hear, Jim. Glad that it seems you're finally getting to where you need to be with your drive.

It appeared to me that my Titanium drive was a tad slower than my Micro drives. I'd be interested in hearing from you on this if you have a way to compare the two models of drive. :)

Thanks Keith, do you have a link to which Micro drive you're using, maybe I'll pick one up and try to do a speed test :D

According to my order history, it's this one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820171116), purchased on 8/8/2006. I don't know if they've revamped the Titanium model line or not.

Keith, that's the same Titanium that I'm using right now, I'll let you know if the new Titanium is any faster when I get it, I guess the best way to test it is to transfer large files back and forth and time it, right?

BTW, what format is your Titanium? Mine is FAT

the best way to compare (IMO) is to benchmark it, you can get free ones to try it out, I'm quite sure Sis software Sandra can bench removable media :)

I didn't bother with benchmarking the two drives. I could visibly notice the speed differences between the two models. :)

Keith, the spec for Titanium 2GB is read: 13MB/sec write: 9MB/sec, and for the Titanium 8GB is read: 15MB/sec write: 9MB/sec, and the format for the 8GB is FAT32

BTW, I ordered a SanDisk Titanium 8GB, and a 16GB from Buy.com yesterday at 8:30 AM, the 8GB arrived today at 2:30 PM, and the 16GB will be here on Friday, it shipped from back East
