Hey, has anyone gotten to install dotnet framework 3.0.
I read a post about installing quicken 2008, is this the only way to get dotnet framework 3.0 on ceedo?

Yep, I have .NET versions 2, 3 and 3.5 installed, but I'm using the latest build.
The Ceedo installation I have .NET installed in is a clean installation with not much software installed.
Please see the screenshot.

Keith, how did you perform the installation. I have dotnet framework version 2 installed but can't seem to get version 3.0 installed.
Do i have to upgrade my Ceedo installation to the most recent version and how do i accomplish ,this cos i'm currently running Ceedo version 2.5.1.32?
Did it get installed because it was mostly a fresh clean install?
i run Win XP SP2 and need some assistance.
Thanks

I used Argo for the installation. However, 2.5x won't support .NET 3. You'll have to wait for 2.6x for this support.

No worries, Ike. Please bear in mind that it's weekend in Israel right now, so you probably won't hear anything until next week.

Keith, how did you get the add/remove programs applet?
The Remove Programs applet lives at the top of the Ceedo All Programs menu. :)

Brando, I don't have a date for the release of 2.6 yet, but I'm expecting it to be very soon.

Brando,
The official word is that Ceedo Personal 2.6 isn't quite ready for release yet. However, the official 2.6 release candidate is available for public download.
I've posted a sticky (http://www.ceedoforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2460) with the link in the General forum.

Keith,
Performed the manual update to Ceedo 2.6.0.21 successfully.
I tried to install Dotnet framework V3 today and i keep getting this error.
see thumbnail.
"Setup has detected that a newer version of the application is already installed on this computer. If this application is encountering problems use add or remove program to repair or uninstall the application"
I checked my remove programs from the ceedo "Al Programs" menu and i only have Dotnet framework V2 installed..
I now proceeded to try Dotnet framework V3.5 install instead but recieve another message.
"Setup has detected that another program requires the program to reboot. You must reboot the computer before installing Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5" - actually, i've had this message even when i tried to install in Ceedo Version 2.5.31...
Any luck on getting past this.....

Ike,
I remember getting the exact same error when attempting to install Visual Basic 2003 in an earlier version of Ceedo.
I have just retested .NET 3.5 and it does install just fine. I've attached screenshots to this post.
Probably what's going on with your installation is that you did an update to the latest beta instead of a clean installation, and previous abortive .NET installation attempts are the cause of the problem.
My latest .NET 3.5 installation test was done in Ceedo Personal 2.6.0.22, which has been released as a public beta. I have posted this information here (http://www.ceedoforum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=7626#post7626).
What I'd recommend doing is running Backup & Restore, and doing a complete backup of your Ceedo drive, and then uninstalling Ceedo and doing a clean installation of CP 2.6.0.22, and then downloading .NET 3.5 here (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=333325fd-ae52-4e35-b531-508d977d32a6&DisplayLang=en), and repeating the installation.
I know that this entails a lot of work, but if you really need to have .NET 3.5 installed in Ceedo, this is pretty much the only way you're gonna make it happen without doing major surgery on your current Ceedo installation, and we all know how surgeries can sometimes go , right? ;)

I wish I could install it, what OS are you on?

XP Pro is what I use on my primary box. I have Vista on my second one, and my third box alternates among 2000 server, 2003 server, Win2K Pro, Vista Home Basic and XP Home & Pro.
I did the installation on my primary box.

Alright Keith, will get it done and get back with the update. Hopefully, others who are experiencing the same issues can have something as a work around as well....
Thanks and well done on the beta...

Just got dotnet Framework 3.5 installed after a fresh install, it was well worth it.
It took installing dotnet twice before it was successful. The first time, it took almost an hour, then i realized that the system was hangin up on me, so i aborted the install.
At this time, dotnet framework 2.0 had already been registered in my remove program, i think the dotnet 3.5 installs progressively 2.0,3.0 and then 3.5.
The next try after i had rebooted, it went quite well.
Thanks to you keith.
Installed firefox 3 from the ceedo software page, i think ff 3 is rather slow compared to ff 2 which i was previously using. Now im thinking of installing ff2 in a different directory. Will this work?

Glad to hear you got .NET 3.5 installed, Ike.
To be honest with you, Firefox has been the bane of my existence from a support point of view since FF3 was released. If you had FF2x installed and installed FF3 to the default directory, it would kill FF in its entirety, both 2 and 3. The solution was to install FF3 to a different directory, resulting in two separate FF installations.
Now that this issue has finally been resolved, I would hesitate to recommend that you install FF2 to a different directory until it has been tested. Give me a day or so to catch up on the testing stuff I have on my plate right now, and I'll give it a run and get back to you with a recommendation.

Here ya go: http://oldapps.com/firefox.htm. Links to versions 0.8 to 3.0.4.
If you're gonna go ahead and take a chance on installing FF2 while you have FF3 on your drive, please make a full backup with B&R beforehand. Better to be safe than sorry. :)
