Hello all,
I'm a complete newbie at this tool, but after reading though previous postings, I've picked up enough to allow me to install most of the programs I want on my portable HDD.
When I tried to run ACAD after successfully installing, I encountered an error message complaining a dll file was missing. After googling for a solution, I found the following:
QError: A required .DLL file, AC1ST16.DLL was not found. (http://www.cadforum.cz/cadforum_en/qaID.asp?tip=3236)
AThis error can occur after reinstalling or uninstalling some Windows applications. The AC1ST16.DLL is probably not missing, only AutoCAD cannot find it. Go to Windows System settings of your computer and in the Environment variables, make sure that the PATH variable contains the folder name C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared (without the backslash at the end, you can remove it using the Edit button).
If the file is really missing, you have to reinstall or repair your AutoCAD installation. To set Windows environment variables, right-click on the 'My Computer' icon, select 'Properties'. In the 'System Properties' dialog, go to the 'Advanced' tab and click the 'Environment variables' button. You can modify the User- (for you) or System- (for all) variables.
And indeed the file is in the folder as described and therefore ACAD is failing to see it there. The procedure to rectify the problem although trivial in a normal windows installation does present a challenge in Ceedo setup .
I would greatly appreciate any help in creating/modifying the Environment variables in Ceedo to provide the required path.
Thank you for any help.
Rigo.
