View Full Version : An Inconspicuous Travel Case

I would like to stay inconspicuous when I plug-in my "FreeAgent Go" into public PCs at libraries and computer centers.

How about a zippered leather case that looks like a Dayrunner!

The cables would stick out just a short length. It would also help protect the device.

I just realized that this should be Seagate's concern so I posted a thread there [http://forums.seagate.com/stx/board/message?board.id=freeagent&thread.id=1130].

I've noticed that Ceedo isn't really big on selling their own merchandise, such as caps (baseball style), tee shirts, coffee mugs, etc, so I don't think that they would be all that interested in manufacturing drive covers to sell on their website.

Ceedo merchandise is something to think about, and I hope that the Ceedo team will consider this in the future, including drive covers.

That's a very polite message, but please stay on track because I didn't refer to "Ceedo..merchandise, such as caps (baseball style), tee shirts, coffee mugs, etc," ha, ha, I just said an unconspicuous case. And I hope the Ceedo team will consider this in the future. Thanks.

I only mentioned Ceedo because if Ceedo were to make a case for you, inconspicuous or not, it would still be merchandise. You see, there's really nothing in it for Ceedo to make travel cases for drives, inconspicuous or otherwise.

You could always ask Seagate to make you one, after all, they manufactured the drive you're using. Or you could make your own.

I understand your thought. But wait a second! I thought of it first and I’ll prove it.
I posted the following reply to myself but it still yet hasn’t appeared:

“I just realized that this should be Seagate's concern so I posted
a thread there at
[http://forums.seagate.com/stx/board/message?board.id=freeagent&thread.id=1130].”

Try the link to Seagate's forum and check the date! You’re right, it is a Seagate issue.

Thanks
Good work

I previously submitted the following reply [it didn’t get posted]:

“I just realized that this should be Seagate's concern so I posted a thread there at

I submitted this reply again two days ago but it didn’t get posted ether.
No Problem.
So I’m submitting it again and it’s better!
Try the link to Seagate's forum and check the date!

I thought it was a Seagate issue too.
But in Seagate’s forum a friend recommends a good case from Case Logic so I bought it!

This is a great case and fits my FreeAgent Go like a glove. It was purchased at Best Buy for $9.99 and is available in numerous colors.

Speaking of being inconspicuous: has anyone had any trouble with people like library staff coming over and asking what you're doing on their PC? I had this issue a while back. They saw me launch an app that they obviously knew wasn't installed on their PC and wanted to know how I hacked into their PC. I had to explain what Ceedo was and why it's safe, but they asked me to stop using the app anyway. :(

Tempting to use the FreeAgent with Ceedo in a College Writing essay, about public use of computers in Senior Citizen Centers. Already was influenced when seeing an older fellow at Staples, I was helping him pick out an external drive, and that was his sole purpose; to use an external drive on a Senior Center's computer, and he wanted his information on the external drive and not their computer.

I recommended (with what little I knew then) Ceedo, giving him the URL an whatnot. The educated seniors you can have success with. Those that think computers are evil, well, don't try to convince them otherwise. LOL
